RE: ANNUAL SUBMISSION OF MENTAL HEALTH PARITY DATA CALLS IN COMPLIANCE WITH THE GEORGIA MENTAL HEALTH PARITY AND ADDICTION ACT ______________________________________________________________________________

The Official Code of Georgia (“O.C.G.A.”) § 33-1-27(c)(1)(A) requires compliance with the Georgia Mental Health Parity Act for health insurers offering coverage for mental health or substance use disorders as part of a health care plan. Insurers subject to the preceding Code section are required to submit data on mental health parity on an annual basis to the Office of the Commissioner of Insurance (“OCI”).

The OCI has contracted with Regulatory Insurance Advisors, LLC (“RIA”) to facilitate the collection and analysis of mental health parity data.

SUBMISSION INSTRUCTIONS: 1. Submit the name, title, e-mail address, and phone number of the contact person(s) responsible for the data submission to [email protected]. 2. RIA will then create an Insurer-Specific Data Call Folder on a secure Citrix ShareFile website containing the Data Call Template and instructions for the insurer. 3. The insurers can then obtain the Data Call template and upload responses and supporting documentation to their secure Data Call folder.

When submitting the data call requirements, please include the following in the email subject line: “Data Call,” data year, Company NAIC CoCode, and Company Name. An example subject line would be: Data Call, 2022, NAIC Code 12345 – ABC Company.
